Tractor Pulling in Australia is governed by the Australian Tractor Pullers Association Inc.
(Incorporated
in Victoria, A0002081U)
The
ATPA was formed by interested parties in 1977 and today comprises of a committee,
financial members, promoters and sponsors.
Originally, the rules and class specifications were borrowed from the
American Tractor Pull Competition, which had a few years head start on ours.
Over time, the ATPA has adapted certain rules, instigated others and held lengthy discussion prior to creating or modifying these rules. The rules are all aimed at making this Motor Sport as safe as possible, not only for the competitors but also the spectators and result in a fair competition between competitors within a given class.
